Land Rover Series 3 – 88″ and 109″
For many years, Land Rover Series III’s have been seen as the cheapest way to become a Land Rover owner. Despite the fact there continue to be deals to be had, they are getting collectable and original, restored examples can demand high prices.
Build quality was intermittent and many are already off-roaded to death, but there’s still thousands around meaning there is a Series III to fit all budgets. The perfect introduction to off-roading, greenlaning and mechanics – even that plastic dashboard and grille don’t look too bad with the passing of time.

1979-1985: Stage One V8 (109 only): 3.5-litre V8 petrol, producing 91 bhp anad 166lb/ft torque. LT95 four-speed manual with permanent four-wheeldrive.
